NEW DELHI: Amid the tension between India and Pakistan after the Pulwama terror attack in which over 40 CRPF personnel were killed, according to the Ndtv sources, in case if there is another terrorist attack originating from Pakistan, “All options will be on the table.”
In a “pre-emptive, non-military” strike, the anti-terror operations carried out by the IAF targeted camps of dreaded terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad in Balakot in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after it claimed the suicide bombing attack on the CRPF convoy in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
A day later, on February 27, India foiled an attempt by Pakistan Air Force to carry out strikes in Jammu and Kashmir by shooting down an F-16 fighter jet. Pakistan’s subsequent attempt to target Indian military facilities with jets across the Line of Control led to the worst escalation between India and Pakistan.
According to the sources “Balakot strike was meant to demonstrate the will and capacity to act against cross-border terrorism.”
India to now focus on stepping up diplomatic pressure on Pakistan as New Delhi is reaching out to all United Nations Security Council or UNSC members, urging them to list Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar on the global terror list.
Recently after the reports of Masood Azhar’s death went viral in India, the Pakistani media while quoting unnamed sources close to his family stated that Masood Azhar is “alive.” Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi also accepted on television that Masood Azhar was in Pakistan and that he was not well.
