Qadir Ali Baig Theatre Festival kicks off in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Qadir Ali Baig Theatre Festival, which is now in its 15th year, kickstarted here on Wednesday. This year’s fest is being held in honour of pandemic warriors of the twin cities including health workers, police, GHMC workers, and media persons.

Chief Justice of Telangana High Court , Shri Raghvendra Singh Chauhan  unveiled the brochure of Qadir Ali Baig Theatre Festival 2020 in the presence of Begum Razia Baig, Chairperson of Qadir Ali Baig Theatre Foundation, Shri Arvind Kumar, Commissioner of DIPR and Principal Secretary, MA&UD and Shri K.S. Sreenivas Raju, Principal Secretary – Tourism and Culture.

The Inaugural play ‘Quli: Dilon ka Shahzaada’ was performed at a courtyard in the centrally-located Moazzam Jahi market, which was restored recently by GHMC.

After the staging of the play, the Festival was declared open. The rest of the Festival continues at Radisson Blu Plaza Hyderabad hotel in Banjara Hills from November 20th to 22nd with 5 different plays by groups coming in from Mumbai, Guwahati, Jaipur, and Delhi.
