India to be established as software product nation: Ravi Shankar

Bangalore: The National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM), on Friday, hosted the Minister of Electronics and Information Technology, Ravi Shankar Prasad at the NASSCOM Warehouse in Bangalore.

NASSCOM is extremely honoured to have the Minister address the startup community as well as product leaders of the Software industry. Ravi Shankar shared his vision of making India a Software Product nation while recognising the trajectory of 10X acceleration in the industry. The community in attendance comprised of startups from each domain including Fintech, Healthtech, Agritech and Cybersecurity to name a few.

The Minister also spoke with the captains of the industry to analyse the trillion-dollar economy objectives at hand, and NASSCOM will continue to build on these consultations working in tandem with MeitY.

Minister objectively stated that all stakeholders would be required to work together to achieve our Trillion Dollar Digital dream. There is a significant focus on Indian IT and innovation and the Government is committed to mould policies and enhance the startup ecosystem in India while accelerating the development of Research and Development centres. As part of the Government’s immediate agenda, he also stated that they will continue their efforts to amplify the ease of doing business and address all pending issues pertaining to this that are currently in the pipeline.

As part of their endeavours to expand horizons and associations with global markets, Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad encouraged the community to explore developing markets as well as drive collaborations benefitting Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.

Speaking after his address to the community, Minister of Electronics and Information Technology, Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, said, “I had a wonderful interaction with the leaders of the Indian IT Industry in Bangalore who shared some really valuable and futuristic suggestions about taking the IT Industry to the next level of growth and development.”

The Minister also reiterated the vitality of E-commerce and Financial Inclusion as valuable facets to the industry that drive growth and generate employment. NASSCOM will continue to work closely with the Government to fulfil these objectives and ensure a conducive framework and sustainable business environment is established.
