India, Morocco sign four MoUs

Rabat [Morocco]: India and Morocco signed four Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) here on Monday. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and her Moroccan counterpart Nasser Bourita joined hands to fight counter-terrorism.

The two countries have agreed to set up a Joint Working Group on Counter Terrorism to develop a comprehensive approach to combat terrorism including cross- border terrorism, misuse of the Internet including social media by terror entities; terrorist financing, recruitment of members of terrorist groups.

MEA official spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted, “Coming together to counter terrorism. EAM @SushmaSwaraj & #Morocco FM Bourita agreed to set up a Joint Working Group on Counter Terrorism to develop a comprehensive approach to combat terrorism including cross- border terrorism, terrorist financing, & recruitment of terrorists.”

The two ministers also signed a MoU for cooperation in Housing and Human Settlement to further the cooperation in the field of Low Cost and Affordable Housing, Urban Planning and Smart Cities.

India and Morocco signed a MoU on cooperation in Youth Matters so as to strengthen and encourage people to people connect, emphasizing on youths who comprises more than 50 per cent of the population in both the countries through participation in events and activities in the two countries, exchange of information and knowledge sharing, and youth exchanges.

An MoU on the reciprocal facilitation of procedures for issue of Business Visa was also signed to alleviate the difficulties faced by businessmen in the issue of Business Visa to further strengthen the excellent economic relations between the two countries.

“EAM @SushmaSwaraj & #Morocco FM Bourita signed an MoU on Reciprocal facilitation of process for issue of business visa. Will help the businessmen and will go a long way to further strengthen the excellent economic relations between the two countries,” tweeted Kumar.

Sushma Swaraj also met the Morroco Head of Government, Saad Eddine El Othmani here today.

Swaraj is currently on a three-nation visit to Bulgaria, Morocco and Spain. She held talks with the Bulgarian leadership on Saturday related to strengthening cooperation in key areas, before arriving here for a two-day visit on Sunday.
