India Vs New Zealand T20 Series: Cricket racket busted, 10 held

Bengaluru: Betting racket on the ongoing T20 matches between India and New Zealand has been busted and around 10 individuals were nabbed by the Central Crime Branch after they received tip-off.

The Central Crime Branch has also seized cash worth Rs 87,200 and also confiscated 10 mobile phones. 

Similarly, last year in September, two people were arrested for their alleged involvement in the cricket betting match during a similar T20 series between India vs South Africa with cash seized to the tune of Rs 41 lakhs.

Prior to this, last week on Friday, another cricket batting racket was busted in the Rani Mandi area of Uttar Pradesh’s Allahabad that led to arrest of 29 people.

The accused men back then were allegedly betting on the India-New Zealand match. The police had also seized Rs 2.15 lakh in cash during the raid.

Delhi Crime Branch busts cricket betting racket

In yet another major case, the Delhi Crime Branch has busted a cricket betting racket in January and arrested 11 people in connection with their alleged involvement in cricket betting.

The police has also confiscated 70 mobiles phone and seven laptops in the raid, with confiscating cash worth Rs 2 crores on January 19 during India Australia match.
