Hyderabad: The #16/622 Collective, a group of four Indian artists will organize a 10-day exhibition at The State Art Gallery, Road No. 1, Kavuri Hills, Jubilee Hills here on February 9. The show will go on till February 18. It will remain open for public from 10 am to 6 pm. The show will be formally inaugurated by Dr Kasu Prasad Reddy, Founder, MaxiVision Eye Hospital and Nag Ashwin Reddy, Director, Scriptwriter, Producer, of Mahanati fame.
Four young women, all under 30 years, include Lalitha Bandaru from Hyderabad, Pragya Bhargava from Gurgaon, Aparajitha Vaasudev from Bengaluru and Vickie Aravindan from Singapore, are holding the exhibition titled “A Eulogy To Things That Never Were.”
In a pressnote here today, Lalitha Bandaru detailed about the individual artists’ works. She said her paintings explore the transience and ephemerality of things in nature more specifically— the crumble and disappearance of the most beautiful, largest and the oldest living systems on the earth – The Coral Reef. She said Pragya Bhargava will exhibit a collection of mixed media paintings and photographs. Aparajitha Vaasudev’s work addresses the primeval need to retain memory, to grasp what has gone before, and preserve it for posterity.
The four classmates of BA (Hons) at Lasalle College of the Arts, Singapore, have come together to form a group “The #16/622 Collective”. They are now spread over all over the world and live in different cities and countries in India and the USA. Entry to the exhibition is open to all.
