Inquiry launched against Pak TikTok star for filming inside FO

Islamabad: An inquiry has been launched against a Pakistani TikTok star for filming videos inside a conference room at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), a media report said.

The snippets made by Hareem Shah, who has over a million followers on the video-sharing app, have viral on social media, Dawn news said in the report on Wednesday.

Speaking to the Karachi-based G News Network, Shah shared how she got access. “Yes, I got into office after seeking permission. If it was against rules and regulations they should not have allowed me to make video.

“I also went to National Assembly, I get a pass, get my entry there properly. No security has ever stopped me, I’ve never had any obstacle. No one has helped me, I got in on my own,” she added.

It was reported earlier that Shah was at the Secretariat but Focal Person to Prime Minister Imran Khan, Arsalan Khalid has clarified that she was actually at the Foreign Office building and that an investigation into the matter was underway.

“This is not PM secretariat, just because a journalist tweeted everybody started to spread this Fake News. It’s Foreign Office and investigation at foreign office is already underway that how she entered,” he tweeted on Wednesday.

Many people took to social media and expressed their outrage over Shah’s move.

“Who allowed her to go inside the Foreign Ministry meeting hall and shot a TikTok clip? What is going on?” a Twitter user queried.

Another said: “This thing about being brave as #HareemShah is actually an embarrassment. She should have thought 100x before acting out on TikTok. Please, honour the Regulatory Authorities its not your playing ground.”

A twitterati deemed Shah’s move as “ridiculous and disgrace”.
