Jagan calls for overhaul of Medical & Health Dept

Vijayawada: AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy today called for the overhaul of Medical and Health Department in the State, which he observed as being afflicted with inefficiency. He promised to undo the systematic wrongs caused by the Chandrababu Naidu government by strengthening the health facilities and services at various levels.
The Chief Minister examined various aspects of the department in a two-hour long meeting on Monday, which was attended by Chief Secretary LV Subramanyam and Principal Secretary Poonam Malakondaiah along with other senior officials of the department.

Jagan particularly drew his attention to services offered by 108 vehicles in the State. While pointing out that the TDP government had destroyed the service, he promised to infuse new lease of life to ensure scores of beneficiaries were benefited. “We will bring back the lost glory to 108 services,” he told officials referring to the days when the service received unparalleled patronage under the former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy.

Jagan also instructed the officials to strengthen the functioning of 104 vehicles. He reviewed the functioning of health centers at the village, mandal and district levels, and instructed the officials to come up with plans for making positive changes to the functioning of Aarogya Sri.
