Riyadh: Turki Aldakhil a top aide who reportedly heard Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman threaten to use “a bullet” on Jamal Khashoggi
was sworn in as kingdom’s new Ambassador to UAE on Sunday.
A former general manager of Al Arabiya television, Mr Aldakhil was sworn in by King Salman along with other new ambassadors reported state-run SPA news agency, TOI reports.
The NYT reported Prince Salman had told Mr Aldakhil that he would use a bullet on Jamal to silence him if he does not stop criticizing the government and returns back to the kingdom before ordering Khashoggi’s murder on October 2.
The Times also reported that the 2017 conversation of Aldakhil was intercepted by the US spy agencies.
However, Aldakhil denied the allegation in a statement to the newspaper.
Jamal Khashoggi was an insider-turned-critic of the Saudi ruling regime, was brutally murdered, dismembered by crown princess people in Saudi consulate after Khashoggi entered the consulate to pick up documents for his wedding.
