Jamia: BHIM army chief slams at Centre

New Delhi: Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad, slammed at the Centre for the ‘brutal’ police action on the students of Jamia Milia Islamia.

BHIM: is a Bahujan-organisation in India, founded by Chandrashekhar Azad Ravan and Vinay Ratan Singh. The main objective behind the movement is the social upliftment of the poor by peaceful means of education and social empowerment.

The Army chief said that “the government cannot rule this country based on Sangh agenda.”

He said: “I do not need to take lessons on the constitution from Sangh Parivar, it is in my blood,” as quoted by the Indian Express.

On Sunday night, as the people of Delhi gathered to condemn the violent police action on Jamia students, the BHIM army chief also takes part in that. He perched on top of his car with a copy of Indian Constitution outside the police headquarter in ITO.

Azad said: “I am not a ‘Dalit Neta’, I stand with the Constitution of India, If any force goes against this Constitution and resorts to atrocities on anybody, I stand with the oppressed, I stand with Jamia.”

He further said: “I am here to let the student know I am here to protect their right to protest. This is their democratic right and I won’t let it be curbed.”

He termed the action of Delhi police as “the conspiracy by the Centre”. Citing Article 14 and 15 of Indian Constitution, he said, “Muslims are not alone in this country. We will not let Article 14, 15 to be breached.”

Bhim army chief said the (Citizenship) Bill has been brought to divide the country, and we will not let the country divide. He added that the country belongs to all the communities as all (Hindu, Muslim, Sikh etc) have sacrificed a lot for the freedom of this country. Nobody can discriminate against them on the basis, of religion and caste.”
