Mohali: In a strange turn of events, a jealous ex-boyfriend of a teenager girl allegedly killed her lover after spotting him in her house on Monday night.
The accused Mohit aged 20 went to his former girlfriend’s house with a cake to celebrate his birthday in Nayagaon.
But he was surprised to see the girl’s boyfriend Rakhesh at her house while she had gone to a nearby market. The girl’s father lives in Uttarakhand while her mother was away working at a hotel.
Furious Mohit got into a heated argument with Rakesh and just few minutes later he along with his two friends Gourav alias Gota (21) and Ranjeet Singh held Rakesh and slit his throat with a knife.
The incident only came to light when Rakesh did not return to his house and his family reached the girl’s house while searching for him.
To their shock their laid Rakhesh dead in a pool of blood.
Inspector Gurwant Singh, Nayagaon station house officer, said “Rakesh had been staying at the girl’s house for last two days. On Monday, Mohit and two others came to her house to celebrate his birthday. When they found Rakesh there, they killed him,” he said.
A case under Sections 302 and 34 of the IPC was registered at Nayagaon police station.
