KCR’s five-day Sahasra Chandi Yagam concludes

Hyderabad: The five-day Maha Rudra Sahitha Sahasra Chandi Yagam performed by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao at his farmhouse in Erravelli village, concluded on Friday with ‘Purnahuti’ rituals.

The Purnahuti was conducted under the supervision of Sharada Peetham pontiff Sri Swaroopanandendra Saraswati. Chandrashekhar Rao was accompanied by his wife Shobha Rao and members of his family during the rituals. The ‘Purnahuti’ rituals were performed at all the eight mandapams where the Yagam was held over the past five days. The rituals were conducted at the Rajasyamala, Bagalamukhi, Navagraha, Rigveda, Yajurveda, Samaveda, Atharvana Veda Mandapams.

After completion of Purnahuti at these mandapams, the Purnahuti began at the main yaga shala, the Chandimata Maha Mandapam. The rituals were conducted amidst chanting of “samasta twamey Rajasyamala mataki jai” by Vedic pundits. At the Bagalamukhi Devi Mandapam, they chanted “jaya Peetambaradharini, divya vedokta mahaneerajanam samarpayami.” Purnahuti was also performed at the Maharudra and Chaturveda mandapams.
