Komatireddy Bros vow to quit politics if lose Bhongir LS seat

Hyderabad: Senior Congress leader Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Friday filed his nomination papers from Bhongir Lok Sabha constituency. He filed one set of nomination papers at the office of the returning officer.

Accompanied by his brother and MLA Rajagopal Reddy and former MLA B Bikshamaiah Goud, Venkat Reddy came to the office and filed his nomination papers. Addressing the party workers later, Venkat Reddy said the parliamentary elections were between Congress president Rahul Gandhi and BJP leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He alleged that Modi came to power by making false promises. He also alleged that Modi had caused a great damage to the people of the country through his controversial decisions like GST and demonetization of currency notes.
Commenting on the defection of the Congress MLAs, Venkat Reddy said nothing would happen to the party even if the ruling TRS party bought all its MLAs. Reminding that the number of Congress MLAs was reduced to just 26 in 1994, he said the number rose to 96 in the year 1996 and 190 during late YSR period. He appealed to the people to vote for him if they wanted a representative to question the State government about their problems.

Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy said he and his brother would quit politics if they lose the Bhongir Lok Sabha constituency or the ruling TRS bagged 16 LS seats. Targeting his political rivals, especially TRS MP Candidate Boora Narsaiah Goud, Komatireddy said Goud had lost consciousness and was talking nonsense.
