Laxman flays KCR for ignoring Telangana Liberation Day

Hyderabad: Charging TRS supremo and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao with totally forgetting supreme sacrifices of Telangana martyrs, State BJP president Laxman on Monday announced that his party would be celebrating Telangana Liberation Day on September 17 with Union Home Minister Amit Shah presiding over the function.

Talking to media persons along with former Union minister Bandaru Dattatraya, former Congress MP Vivek Venkatswamy, and Peddi Reddy, who joined the BJP recently, Laxman alleged that Chief Minister KCR was ignoring the Liberation Day and demanded that the Telangana government celebrate the Telangana Liberation Day officially. Pointing out that former Union minister late G Venkatswamy alias Kaka was associated with the century-old Congress party, Laxman said his party BJP alone was the alternative to the ruling TRS party in the State as people were disgusted with the KCR’s authoritarian and family rule.

Alleging that the Congress and the TRS were birds of the same nest and Congress MLAs joined the ruling party for passage of their pending bills, Laxman said TRS working president K Tarakarama and State Congress chief Uttam Kumar Reddy were jointly firing salvos against the BJP for political gain. He also deplored that the Telangana government and Chief Minister KCR forgot late Sushma Swaraj, who vociferously argued for separate Telangana State in Parliament. Laxman claimed that many leaders were ready to join the BJP.
