Maharashtra: 150 Minority members resign from BJP

Mumbai: In the wake of the ongoing protest against CAA, NPR and NRC, 150 members belonging to Minority Morcha resigned from the primary membership of BJP in Maharashtra State.

The resignations were announced in a press conference held in Aurangabad on Sunday.

In charge of Minorities Morcha, Mr. Farooq Pathan told that Triple Talaq Act is an intervention in Muslim Personal Law.

He further told that on account of scrapping Article 370, CAA and NRC, the minorities’ leaders are placed in a situation where it has almost become impossible to satisfy minorities.

Despite many arguments, people are not ready to accept these laws.

Commenting on the mass resignations, Mr. Pathan told that every member of Minority Morcha considers that CAA is a clear violation of Article 14 of the constitution in which a ban has been imposed to take a decision based on religion.

He further told that CAA is not only against minorities but also disadvantageous to common man. Present in the press conference were Mr. Pasha Patel and other office bearers of Minorities Morcha of BJP.
