Mumbai: Ajaz Khan is leading from Byculla Assembly Constituency, first post reported.
Other candidates who are contesting from the Constituency are AIMIM’s Waris Yusuf Pathan, Shiv Sena’s Yamini Yashwant Jadhav and others.
In Assembly election of 2014, Waris Yusuf Pathan won the seat.
It may be mentioned that Ajaz Khan wanted to contest from Mumbra Assembly Constituency on AIMIM ticket but when he failed to get the ticket from the party, he decided to contest from Byculla Assembly Constituency as an independent candidate.
Many allegations were leveled against him when he decided to contest against Waris Pathan. Few netizens also alleged that his candidature from the Constituency will divide Muslim votes resulting in the victory of Shiv Sena’s candidate.
