Mamata suspects violence by BJP during Friday prayer

Kolkata: CM of West Bengal, Ms. Mamata Banerjee suspects that BJP activists might indulge in violent activities during Friday Prayer today.
She was addressing a mass rally at Rani Rash Road at Dharamtalla in Kolkata organized to register protest against CAA and NRC.

Mamata’s prediction

Ms. Banerjee also told that a large number of Muslims will go to mosques for offering Friday prayer. On this occasion, BJP workers might disrupt law and order situation.

She alleged that BJP is preparing its cadre to disrupt the peaceful situation of the state.

CAA

Commenting on CAA, Ms. Banerjee told that BJP is making an attempt to divide the Hindus and the Muslims through this act. She demanded to organize a referendum on this issue under the supervision of UNO.

West Bengal police reported that although agitations and protest meetings are being organized, the law and order situation the state is peaceful.
Police also disclosed that in protest procession against CAA, the supporters and opponents in North Dinajpur clashed with each other in which six persons were killed. The agitators had jammed the traffic on the national highway.
