Man stabs friend for secret affair with sister

Panchkula: Seeing his friend with his sister at a private hotel instigated Sandeep Singh to murder his friend.

According to reports, just a day after the brutal murder of a 38-year-old man has surfaced, the police have arrested the accused brother from Bathinda on Monday, TOI reports

Accused reportedly confessed about his crime to the cops that his friend and victim Gagandeep Singh Bedi (38) also a father of two was in an alleged affair with his sister.

When the accused left his house two days ago, in search of his sister, he found his sister staying in a private hotel at Panchkula. To his shock, CCTV footage revealed his friend and victim met his sister in the hotel.

Enraged brother decided to murder victim but could not do so when he stayed at his friend’s house on Saturday.

But the very next, the accused managed to stab him multiple times with a billhook after he asked him to stop for a cigarette on their way to bus stop.

“We have arrested the accused from Bathinda and are investigating the matter,” said the police.

Meanwhile, the victim’s wife Tanu Sharma has told the accused had come to meet his friend on Saturday night and the very next morning asked her husband to drop him at the bus stand after having breakfast around 8.15am.

“When Gagandeep did not return after a while, Tanu started calling him, but got no response. She said she called Sandeep too, but his phone was switched off,” said the police.

Krishan Sharma, brother-in-law of the victim, said: “Gagandeep, his wife Tanu, eight-year-old daughter and five-year son had recently shifted to Panchkula from Bathinda to build their own house in Sector 27. They were living in a rented accommodation in Sector 26. Sandeep was their neighbour in Bathinda.”

The police have registered a case under section 302 (punishment for murder) of the IPC at Sector 5 police station.
