MANUU among top 20 central universities in India

Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) is the only Indian language university to find a place in the Outlook-ICARE list of top-ranked central universities. It was ranked 20th from among 25 shortlisted universities based on parameters such as Faculty Student Ratio, Faculty with PhD, Citations Per Paper and Inclusiveness and Diversity. The UGC lists 49 central universities in India as of 12th December 2018.

Dr. Aslam Parvaiz, Vice Chancellor, called the MANUU’s inclusion in the country’s top-rated universities an honour and a good omen for Urdu-medium education. While congratulating the students, faculty and the larger MANUU fraternity, he also pointed out that this distinction increases our responsibility towards the institution.

It is pertinent to mention here that the MANUU has been accredited an ‘A’ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) on two continuous two occasions. Today scores of MANUU alumni can be found in various MNCs and in different government departments. It underlines the fact that Urdu-medium education is not a hindrance in finding employment and recognition. Moreover, it is second to none with reference to medium of instruction.

MANUU in recent years has launched Directorate of Translation & Publication (DTP) to compile & publish Syllabi & knowledge based books. This is among the core areas identified by the present Vice-Chancellor. The University has been widely appreciated for undertaking path breaking examination reforms a couple of months ago where students were shown their answer scripts before declaring results.

Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ayub Khan, and Registrar, Dr. M.A. Sikandar also congratulated the MANUU community for this earning a place among the best central universities in India.
