Media distorting defection issue: Uttam

Hyderabad: TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy today appealed to the media not to distort the issue of defection of Congress MLAs.

In a media statement here, Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that each of the defectors has been paid crores of rupees to defect. The MLAs were purchased at a time in four months. The disqualification petitions of the MLAs are pending with the Speaker for four months. He said Congress party got majority in most of the Assembly constituencies where the sitting MLAs defected to TRS. The matter was pending in the court for over a month now, Uttam Kumar stated. He appealed to the national media to understand the “murder of democracy” in Telangana by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao.
