Meet Hyd born Salahuddin, PhD scholar of Mississippi University

Hyderabad: Mohammed Salahuddin has worked hard right from KG to PG and now he is pursuing PhD from Mississippi University. Son of a businessman Mohammed Azizuddin and Asra Roohi, residents of Noor Khan Bazar, Salahuddin is doing PhD in Pharmacology.  He will complete doctorate in the next two years.

He is doing research on brain-related diseases such as sleep disorders, mental stress, and other psychological diseases.

Born in Hyderabad, Salahuddin shifted to Sultanate of Oman with his father and took admission in Indian School of Salalah. He studied there till 8th standard, then he returned to Hyderabad and got admission in St Thomas School. He passed SSC and inter with flying colours, did BPharm from Mallareddy and went to London to pursue master’s degree.

He did masters in Pharmacology from Austin University and joined United Health Group, a multinational company. He also had an opportunity to work as an associate professor in Ethiopia.

Meanwhile, he also did research on HIV. Salahuddin is also the recipient of Graduate Student Award named after noted scientist Marvin Davis. 35 of his papers have been published in national and international journals.

According to Salahuddin if students want their future to be bright they should obey their parent, be punctual and offer five-time prayers. His wife Aleemunnisa, who is also and Pharmacist, has supported him during his research journey.
