Meet Mohiuddin, a journo who started Nawab’s kitchen for orphans

HYDERABAD: MBA graduate Khwaja Moinuddin is giving back to society with his unique initiative.

Born into a middle-class family in Guntur, Mohiuddin has moved to Hyderabad after his marriage to Naheeda Begum.

Mr. Mohiuddin had an experience of over 10 years in a private media firm as a producer.

However, he quit his job to pursue his passion for cooking with a purpose.

Nawab’s kitchen

Mohiuddin started the YouTube channel back in 2017 along with two of his friends Srinath Reddy and Bhagat Reddy, also involved in the media firm, who help him records videos for his channel.

Mr. Mohiuddin took the internet by storm with the popularity of his YouTube channel “Nawab’s kitchen food for all Orphans”.

Feeding thousands of mouths

With magic in his hands and golden voice, Mr. Mohiuddin’s channel has everything from the iconic Nizami biryani to mouth-watering cakes.

His channel has more than 220 videos that garnered over 1.33M subscribers from across the globe.

Every month, he brings a smile back on the faces of around 1200 kids of various orphanages by feeing them a good, sumptuous meal.

In an interview with The Hindu, Moinuddin was quoted as saying, “I always cook extra and never come back with leftovers. Once we are done cooking, everyone in and around the area where we cook is free to join us to eat. Initially we would pack the cooked food in boxes and distribute it, then we thought we would feel even better if we are able to serve the people directly.”

The trio is an inspiration to the young generation who wanted to move out of the cocoons of their lives and do something to give back to society.

Khwaja will always be the ‘Nawab’ whose kitchen’s door remains open to feed the lesser privileged.
