Met Gala 2019: Deepika Padukone channels inner Barbie in a gown

New Delhi: Deepika Padukone graced the 2019 Met Gala red carpet in a stunning pink gown and it is all things dreamy!

The actor wore a strapless pink coloured gown by Zac Posen and her look will instantly remind you of a life-size Barbie.

Deepika opted for a retro hairdo and teamed it up with a gorgeous embellished headband. She accessorised her outfit with a pair of pink diamond earrings and a statement cuff. The stunner rounded off her look with an oxblood lip colour and pink smokey eyes.

Posen took to his Instagram account to share the look of the svelte beauty.
The designer posted a stunning picture of Deepika and wrote, “The gorgeous and fabulous Deepika Padukone wearing a custom Zac Posen metallic pink lurex jacquard gown. This gown includes Zac Posen x GE Additive x Protolabs embroidery.”

At the mega event, the who’s who from all over the world took the stage.

From Priyanka Chopra to Lady Gaga to Billy Porter, everyone stunned at the red carpet. While many of the celebrities who came to the red carpet kept it dramatic, Deepika surely left everyone in awe of her pink custom-made gown.

The theme of this year’s Met Gala is ‘Camp: Notes on Fashion’. The theme is inspired by Susan Sontag’s 1964 essay that defines camp as “love of the unnatural: of artifice and exaggeration.”

Interestingly, Deepika is attending the MET Gala for the third time. She first appeared at the event in 2017 during the release of her first Hollywood movie, ‘XXX: Return of Xander Cage’. Dressed in an ivory slip-dress, accessorised with a flower crown, the diva looked mesmerising.

Last year, the actress looked drop dead gorgeous in a Prabal Gurung gown with a thigh-high slit. Making a statement, the actor accessorised her look with siren red heels, dainty diamond jewellery, and bright red lips.

The event was co-hosted by Lady Gaga, Anna Wintour, Gucci’s Creative Director Alessandro Michele, Harry Styles, and Serena Williams.

The gala was held inside New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.
On the work front, Deepika will be next seen in Meghna Gulzar’s ‘Chhapaak’, which is based on the life of acid attack survivor, Laxmi Agarwal. The movie also stars Vikrant Massey in a key role.
