Hyderabad: Health Minister Etala Rajender today expressed concern at the growing operations for delivery in the private hospitals. The aim of the government is to ensure that general deliveries take place instead of operations which is a growing menace in the state.
Addressing a program at Methodist Engineering College held to mark international midwifery day the minister presented certificates to 30 trained midwives, in the presence of Health commissioner Yogitha Rana and other officials. Though every living being gives birth to its children normally, the human being in spite of having knowledge and technology is opting operations, he expressed concern. This is a situation the society itself belittles by doing so, he observed. The health minister appealed the people to prefer normal deliver and avoid operations to keep healthy mentally and physically.
Rajender also called upon the trained midwives to serve the best at villages and primary health centers wherein the people can avoid such operations. There is a need for more awareness on normal deliveries and to avoid operations to keep child and mother in good health, the minister said.
