Million March venue shifted to Indira Park on Saturday

Hyderabad: The venue for the ‘Million March’ against the CAA-NRC-NPR has been shifted from Necklace Road to Dharna Chowk at Indira Park, Lower Tank Bund Road in Hyderabad on Saturday, January 4, from 2 pm onwards.

The delegation of  Muslim organization joint action committee of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh (JAC) had earlier planned to hold a million march at Necklace road on December 28, but central zone police had denied permission, upon which the JAC approached Telangana High Court which directed the Hyderabad police reconsider the application of JAC.

The JAC delegation made a fresh representation and today met Hyderabad City Police Commissioner, Anjani Kumar to expedite the process of police permission to hold the March, citing various reasons including an official programme of Telangana special police at the same venue, the police did not agree for the Necklace road and suggested to opt for Dharna Chowk at Indira Park.

The organizers have agreed to shift the venue of million march from Necklace road to Dharna Chowk on January 4 from 2 PM to 5 PM in the evening.

“We have met the Hyderabad City Police Commissioner and other police officials, although they did not allowed us to hold protest at Necklace road but as an alternate they have agreed to accord permission for Million March protest at Dharna Chowk, this event will be a historic in the country against the draconion law CAA-NRC” said, Mohammed Mushtaq Malik, Convenor of Joint Action Committee (JAC)..

“We want maximum number of people to join us in our fight against CAA-NRC and NPR,” Mr. Mushtaq Malik added.
