On coming to know about the police operation, Charminar legislator along with his followers reportedly arrived in the area where the police force was present.

Video goes viral

The viral video on social media depicts that, citing the unrest among the public over the CAA and NRC issue, MIM Legislator allegedly obstructing the ACP Falaknuma from carrying the cordon search operation.

In the purported video, the legislator has also objected the police for verifying the Aadhar cards of the public.

The police, however, discontinued the search operation after the MLA strongly opposed it.  The video of legislator allegedly obstructing the police from discharging their duties went viral on social media, forcing the senior police officials to seek report about the incident.

“On January 6, police carried out a cordon search operation in the Shahalibanda area from 5 pm to 6 pm in the evening. By the time the legislator reached the area, the operation was completed and there is no cause of action against him” said ACP Falaknuma Mohammed Abdul  Majid.
