Lucknow: National President All India Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) Asaduddin Owaisi has rejected the proposal to contest from Muslim dominated Parliamentary constituency of East Uttar Pradesh and made it clear that MIM will not contest from Uttar Pradesh.
According to Inquilab, state president Shaukat Ali told that secular parties accuse MIM of splitting Muslim votes. Hence, keeping in view the present poll scenario, the national president has decided not to field any candidate on any of the Lok Sabha seats of Uttar Pradesh to allay misconception that MIM splits Muslim votes and supports BJP.
Shaukat Ali revealed that a meeting of officials and workers of MIM was held in which party national president Asaduddin Owaisi was invited to contest from Muslim dominated parliamentary constituency of Uttar Pradesh. However, party high command has decided not to contest Lok Sabha Elections from Uttar Pradesh so that secular votes do not split. Shaukat Ali said MIM is ready to sacrifice anything to save the secularism and constitution of the country.
