Miscreants threaten to hoist tricolour at Jama Masjid

Shahi Imam also claimed that they faced similar situation on 15th of August 2018 too, but they showed restraint and maintained peace and communal harmony.

Shahi imam claimed that similar warnings are being circulated on social media this year as well. Hence he asked the Lt. Governor to ensure preventive measures so that no untoward incident could happen.

According to Inquilab, Shahi Imam told that we respect national flag but the tricolour is not hoisted anywhere at the place of worship.

New Delhi: In a bid to violate the sanctity of Shahi Jama Masjid, miscreants once again announced to hoist tri-colour and raise slogans on the stairs of Jama Masjid. Shahi Imam Syed Ahmed Bukhari is very angry on this and has expressed fear of any untoward incident. He has written a letter to Lt. Governor is Anil Baijal stating that 15th August is the greatest day in our history on which we got freedom from Britishers. On the happy occasion some miscreants have been entering into Jama Masjid Delhi in a deliberate attempt to disrupt peace. Not only this, they have been raising provocative slogans thus violating the sanctity of Jama Masjid.
