Hyderabad: Mahbubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad MLC-elect from Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) Vani Devi had a narrow escape on Thursday when her car was rammed into the parking area gate in Assembly.
Vani devi was present at the assembly to call on the Assembly speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy
The incident took place at Gate No: 8, after her personal security officer (PSO) Bhanu Prakash dropped her off at the assembly. The police immediately rushed to the help of the gunman, after they heard a loud noise caused due to ramming.
Later, Bhanu Prakash was held was placed under suspension by CP Anjani Kumar, as PSO is unauthorized to drive the protected person’s car.
The front end of the car is known to have completely damaged in the accident.
Vani Devi, who contested the election for vacant seat in legislative council from Mahbubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad graduates’ constituency on Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) ticket, won with a majority of 11,703 votes over her close rival and sitting MLC from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) N. Ramachander Rao.
