Modi copied MLAs defection strategy from KCR: Vijayashanti

Hyderabad: TPCC campaign committee chairperson Vijayasanti on Tuesday lashed out at Chief Minister KCR for indirectly encouraging defections of Congress MLAs in the State.

Reacting to the oft-quoted statement of the Chief Minister that the Narendra Modi government at the Centre had copied his Rythu Bandhu scheme, Vijayasanti quipped that the Prime Minister had actually copied the MLAs defection strategies of KCR. She said Prime Minister Modi had openly stated that 40 MLAs of the TMC were in touch with him during a public meeting while noting that he would ensure the collapse of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee government soon after the Lok Sabha elections were over.

She said the immoral practice of defections was spreading like a virus across the country. She felt that there was a need to bring amendments to the Anti-Defection laws in the country to prevent such menace. She also said the Congress party, under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi has included the issue in their party’s manifesto.
