Modi has no plans to convert city into UT: Laxman

Hyderabad: BJP State president K Laxman on Saturday made it clear that the Union government has no plans to turn Hyderabad into a Union territory.

Speaking to mediapersons at Karimnagar, Laxman said they would celebrate September 17 as Telangana Liberation Day at any cost in the same manner as they abrogated Article 370 of the Constitution. He also said MIM floor leader in the Assembly Akbaruddin Owaisi would get severe punishment for his questionable comments. He said the old and new leaders of the party would work hard and bring it to power in the next Assembly elections.

Laxman said they would develop education and health sectors after wresting power in the State. He also alleged that the TRS Government miserably failed to accelerate development in the State.

Alleging that the State had achieved No 2 position in the country, Laxman said no work of the 70 percent people was being done without paying bribe. He said KCR used tainted money earned by him in the form of commissions from irrigation projects to contest in the elections. He said the Aarogyasri cashless healthcare services have been stopped due to the non-payment of Rs 1,500-crore arrears to the network hospitals in the scheme.
