Morocco arrests IS suspect

Rabat: Moroccan security forces have arrested a man with suspected link to the Islamic State (IS) militant group.

The suspect, 41, was arrested on Saturday in the central city of Meknes. He was allegedly planning a suicide bombing, the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation, Morocco’s intelligence bureau, said in a statement, Xinhua news agency reported.

Electronic devices and documents on products related to the manufacturing of explosives were seized, it added.

Investigation shows that the suspect was involved in spreading IS extremist ideology.

The suspect will be brought to justice upon the completion of the investigation under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office, the statement added.
