Mortal remains of man killed in Sri Lanka blasts brought to Hyderabad residence

Hyderabad: Mortal remains of a Hyderabad resident who was killed in the Easter Sunday blasts in Sri Lanka arrived at his home in the city on Wednesday.

The deceased, identified as Tulsiram, was visiting the island nation when the blasts struck hotels and churches on Sunday.

The 31-year-old along with his friends had reached the neighbouring country on Friday.

Nalini, Tulsiram’s mother, told media here that she got to know about the unfortunate incident on Tuesday evening.

“He called me last Saturday and said that everything was fine there. He told me that he was staying in a hotel with his friends. My son was in the hotel canteen for breakfast on Sunday when he died in the blast,” she added.

A native of Guntur, Tulsiram was staying with his family in Ameerpet, Hyderabad.

Over 300 people, including 10 Indians, were killed when coordinated blasts struck as many as eight high-end hotels and churches in Colombo, Negombo and Batticaloa cities of Sri Lanka on Sunday.

The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the blasts.
