#MosquesofIndia trends on Twitter after Ayodhya verdict

NEW DELHI: A week after the historic Supreme Court verdict on the decades-long Ayodhya dispute — Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid, social media users on Friday took to twitter to raise awareness of the country’s Islamic heritage using the hashtag #MosquesofIndia.

The Supreme Court on November 9 directed the Central government to hand over the disputed site at Ayodhya for the construction of a temple and set up a trust for this.

The apex court further directed the government to give a suitable plot of land measuring five acres to the Sunni Waqf Board to build a “prominent” new mosque.

Some users made reference while others celebrated the country’s historic Islamic sites.
