An employee of a Mumbai-based five-star hotel allegedly sexually assaulted a 35-year-old Canadian woman during her stay there, a police official said on Thursday.
The accused is identified as Sumit Rao, 32. Canadian national accused him of sexually assaulting her in her hotel room in Juhu on the pretext of taking a selfie with her.
She often visits India as she works for an event management firm. The incident happened on January 5.
The accused was arrested on Tuesday and charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code. An investigation is initiated in the case, the official added.
