Muslim-Hindu wives donate kidneys to each other’s husbands

NEW DELHI: These two families have set an example of friendship and brotherhood that go far beyond religious boundaries.

The uniqueness of the situation was that a Hindu woman donated her kidney for a Muslim man, whose wife , in turn, donated her kidney to the former’s husband.

According to reports published in Mumbai Mirror, these two families were brought togehter by their nephrologist six months ago, completely strange to each other till the day surgeries.

Stressing that religion didn’t matter, doctors at the hospital decided to convince the wives to do a kidney swap. The families work as a team to tangled the situation and on March 14, also World Kidney Day, the surgeries were done at Saifee Hospital.

With this, Thane‘s Nadeem and Nazreen Patel forged a life-long bond Bihar’s Ramswarth Yadav and his wife Satyadevi.

This is not the first instance where people from different religions have donated kidneys to each other. Two years ago, on the occasion of Eid ul-Adha, two kidney transplants took place in Rajasthan’s Jaipur city, where Hindu and Muslim men donated kidneys to each others wives.
