Is Najeeb Ahmed alive or dead? Court asks CBI

New Delhi: Court has asked CBI if it believes Najeeb Ahmed alive or dead? An Urdu newspaper with reference to SNB reported that Chief metropolitan magistrate of Patiala High Court Manish Khorana asked this question on the issue of Najeeb’s Call Data Records (CDR) not given to Najeeb’s mother. The hearing was posted to June 28.

On the direction of the Court, the CBI handed over all the documents to Najeeb’s mother that were linked to closure report except CDR. When Najeeb’s mother demanded for that the CBI told that not considering it an authentic document, it did not attach it with closure report. Hence the same was not handed over to Najeeb’s mother.

Najeeb’s mother said Najeeb went missing hence CDR is an important document.

The court asked CBI whether it believes Najeeb to be alive or dead. CBI said Najeeb was last time seen with his friend and he has been kept hidden. Fatima opposed the statement and demanded hearing. The case is posted on June 28.

Najeeb Ahmed, a first year MSc Biotechnology student in the JNU went missing on October 15, 2016 after the alleged attacks on him by members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the student wing of BJP.
