Neglected Musi River in Hyderabad turns into cesspool

Hyderabad: A view of Hyderabad High Court facing the Musi River front could have been something beautiful to look at. But the criminal callousness of the GHMC and the government has turned it into an eyesore.
The growing heaps of garbage dumped by people and subsequent growth of weeds in the stagnant filth at the Musi River that flows through the city have become a health hazard. A little rain may further escalate the trouble as three out of four arches over which Muslim Jung Bridge stands are blocked by effluent almost stopping the flow of water. To add to the woes, the rubber filter installed there has also gone stopped working owing to entry of garbage.
