New Delhi: Jobless 22 YO crushes friend’s head with a stone, slits throat

New Delhi: A 22-year-old jobless man under debt allegedly crushed his friend’s head with a stone, slit his throat left him to die a painful death, police said.

The incident is reported to have occurred on January 21 from south Delhi’s Amar Colony area on Sunday where the accused identified as Farman, a resident of Halduni in Noida robbed his friend identified as Arshad Ali (23) who was in an inebriated state, of his mobile phone and other articles after he mercilessly hacked him to death, HT reports.

The victim’s body was found lying near a railway track in the city. The Delhi Police moved the deceased’s body to AIIMS hospital for preservation and identification said Deputy Commissioner of Police (southeast) Chinmoy Biswal.

The victim was a resident of Gandhi camp and had been reported as missing since January 10 and was last seen with Farman.

It was Farman was arrested he disclosed that he was planning to rob someone when he met his old friend Arshad.

Deciding to rob Arshad, Farman purchased five beers from a nearby liquor shop and he, along with Arshad, went to a deserted side of the railway track.

They drank beer until Arshad was intoxicated. Farman then took the opportunity and slammed Arshad with a big stone on his head following which made him unconscious. He then slit his friend’s throat, robbed him of his phone and other articles and fled the crime scene.

Farman used to live at Gandhi Camp, SN Puri and used to work in Okhla Mandi. Around four-five years ago, due to financial problem, his family sold their house and shifted to Haldoni where he used to sell kachori, police said.
