Cuddalore: Due to continuous surge in onion prices, it has become so expensive that it can be offered as a wedding gift.
In one of the weddings which took place at Manjakuppam in Cuddalore, the bridegroom’s friends gifted 2.5 kg of onion to the newly couple.
As per the details, the couple, Shahul and Sabrina received a gift from G. Chithan and his friends Sudhan, Sarath, Sasanth, Manoj and Dinesh.
When the couple opened the gift, everyone at the wedding got surprised.
It may be mentioned that the price of onion shot up to a whopping Rs 200 per kg in Bengaluru due to severe shortage in the market.
As a result, the most common and staple vegetable is missing from the menu in the homes and restaurants.
