Jagatsinghpur (Odisha): One person was killed and three other members of his family were seriously injured after dacoits fired at them in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district in the early hours today, police said.
The incident happened at Sindhal village in Tirtol area when armed dacoits barged into their house, Additional Superintendent of Police, Paradip, B S Mishra, said.
The intruders assaulted the family members and fired at them when they resisted, the ASP said.
The deceased was identified as Antaryami Khuntia. His son, brother, and nephew were injured.
The injured were taken to the SCB Medical College and Hospital at Cuttack, he added.
