10-yr-old girl molested by brother in Palam Vihar, forced to drink alcohol

A 10-year-old girl was allegedly molested by her elder brother after he forced her to drink liquor at their house in Carterpuri village in Palam Vihar on Monday, police said on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday morning when he came to the house to collect his belongings after fleeing the area a day earlier, sub-inspector Mukesh Kumar, said.

The incident took place on Monday when parents of the victim, a student of class 3, had gone for work and she was at the house with her younger brother, who was in an adjacent room.

The victim told police that her elder brother came into the room, forced alcohol down her throat, touched her inappropriately and assaulted her.

After the victim started shouting, her younger brother alerted the landlord’s wife and ran out and called their mother, who was working as a domestic help at a nearby house.

The accused, a rickshaw puller, managed to escape and their mother later approached police.

A case was registered against the accused under section 328 (causing hurt by means of poison, etc., with intent to commit an offence) of Indian Penal Code and section 8 of POCSO act at Palam Vihar police station.

In her statement, the victim said that she fell unconscious after the incident.

The victim’s family is from Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh and stay in a rented accommodation at Carterpuri. The victim’s father is also a rickshaw puller and mother works as a domestic help.
