100 WiFi hotspots to be set up in city within 15 days

As part of its mission to make Hyderabad a world class city, Telangana government will set up 100 WiFi hotspots in the city within 15 days. Telangana government has decided to provide 45 minutes of free WiFi to everyone in the city, with the help of other transmission agencies besides BSNL. For this purpose 100 WiFi hotspots have been identified which include highly crowded places, government offices and GHMC main office, zonal offices, Hyderabad Ranga Reddy collateral, High Court, Mahatma Gandhi bus station, Jubilee Bus Stand, KBR and Indira Park.

Hyderabad is among the 2,500 cities identified by the Union Government to roll out WiFi services in public places as part of the Digital India initiative. To utilise this facility, one must register by using the WiFi options on their smart phone. The user will have to send their mobile number and will receive a user name and password. They can next login using the details and can start browsing.
