Hyderabad: According to the press note issued by Shaik Abdullah Sohail, Chairman of Minorities Dept. of Congress, the party is organizing a protest rally on 2nd July to press the demand for providing 12% reservations to Muslims. This rally will be taken out from Gandhi Bhavan to Abids. Mr. Sohail invited senior Congress leader, Mr. Digvijaya Singh to participate in the rally. Mr. Sohail told that Mr. KCR had promised to provide 12% reservation to Muslims within 4 months of TRS resuming power in Telangana but even after the lapse of four years, this promise has not been fulfilled.

The proposed rally is being taken out to register protest and also to exert pressure on the Govt. to fulfill its promise.

It may be mentioned that after BJP failed to form government in Karnataka, the chances of winning elections in Telangana for Congress have increased. It is reported that Congress President, Mr. Rahul Gandhi consulted Mr. Divijaya Singh to evaluate the status of Congress in Telangana. Mr. Rahul Gandhi also made it clear that this time, there will be no coalition either with MIM or with any other political party.

Mr. Sohail informed that Congress is getting ready to get seats from Old City also.
