150 garbage auto trolley tippers flagged off

Chief Secretary SK Joshi, along with Mayor B. Rammohan, Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin, MA&UD Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar, IAS, Finance Principal Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao, IAS, CDMA Commissioner T.K. Sridevi, IAS, GHMC Commissioner B. Janardhan Reddy flagged off the new 150 auto trolley tippers today at People’s Plaza, Necklace Road.

Addressing the gathering the Mayor said as per the vision of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and MA&UD Minister K T Rama Rao, the GHMC was striving to make the city as that of a world class. In this connection, already 2,000 Swachh auto tippers were deployed earlier in which the Solid Waste collection of garbage has increased from 3,500 mt to 4,900 mt per day. The Mayor also said the State government has decided to fill up the gaps in door-to-door household garbage collection and in addition to 2000 auto trolleys, another 500 tippers have been decided for procure out of which 150 auto trolleys have been given to the eligible candidates to take up garbage waste removal from households to improve the collection of garbage in the twin cities and the remaining 350 autos will be distributed among the beneficiaries very soon.

Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin, Khairatabad MLA Chinthala Ramachandra Reddy, Commissioner Dr B. Janardhan Reddy also addressed the gathering. Standing Committee Members, Corporators, senior officials of the GHMC and other departments too participated in the function. Area Corporator Vijaya Reddy also spoke. Later, all the concerned AMOHs handed over the auto trolleys to the beneficiaries. (NSS)
