16 Kendriya Vidyalayas to be set up in Telangana: Union Minister

Hyderabad: 16 Kendriya Vidyalayas (central government schools) will be set up in Telangana state. This was revealed by Upendra Kushwaha Minister of State for Human Resource Development. He was answering to a question asked by Rajya Sabha MP M A Khan on 10th of this month.

The minister told that the state government has sent recommendation for setting up of Kendriya Vidyalayas in 16 districts of the state, that are, Nizamabad, Bhongir, Siddipet, Suryapet, Viqarabad, Bhadradri, Kothagudem, Jagtial, Gadwal, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Kamareddy, Kumarambheem Asifabad, Nagar Kurnool, Nirmal, Wanaparthy, and Warangal.

The minister said practical measures will be taken for establishment of Navodaya schools in the newly formed districts, where they are lacking. Presently 32 Kendriya Vidyalayas and 9 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are running in the state.
