Kolkata: In yet another sorrowful incident, a 16-year-old girl along with her beau committed suicide after families allegedly objected to their relationship. This incident took place in West Midnapore District of West Bengal. Girl, Uma Ganguly and her beau, Kartik Kotal (24) hanged using a single rope.
According to the report published in Hindustan Times, the girl was the student of Class 10. Her exam was scheduled to begin on 12th March. Bodies of the couple were hanging from the two ends of the same rope from a tree’s branch. This incident took place in Kharar Municipality which is around 120 km from Kolkata, capital of the State.
It may be mentioned that Kotal got married 6-months ago and had an extramarital affair with Ganguly, a class X student of Kharar Girls High School. After the incident, Chairman of Kharar Municipality, Mr. Uttam Mukherjee said, “It’s surprising”.
Talking about the case, Mr. Alok Rajoria, SP, West Midnapore District said that investigation is going on. According to locals, families of both boy and girl objected to their relationship.
