Saharanpur:Two persons were today arrested from the Sarsava area here for allegedly transporting 18 boxes of illicit liquor, an senior police official said.
“The police had received a tip-off that a car with a BJP flag on it was carrying illicit liquor,” Superintendent of Police (Rural) Vidya Sagar Mishra said, adding that a case has been registered in the matter.
The car was coming from Haryana and was stopped at a check post in the area. Eighteen boxes of illicit liquor were seized, he said.
The owner of the car was not available for comments.
