2 terrorists killed in Pakistan

Lahore: At least two terrorists were killed in anti-terrorist counter operations conducted by the Punjab Rangers in Punjab’s Dera Ghazi Khan city here on Sunday.

The Express Tribune reported that the identity of the terrorists and the organisation to which they belonged were currently under investigation.

According to a statement by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Major Asif Ghafoor, the terrorists had been involved in kidnapping and killing of security personnel in the province.

Also, 19 more terrorists were apprehended in different raids across the province. Arms and ammunition were also recovered from them.

This comes a day after a Pakistan military court pronounced the death sentence on at least 10 terrorists, who were found guilty of carrying out suicide attacks in the country during the last few years.

The raids were part of Pakistan Army’s ‘Radd-ul-Fasaad’ operation, a military offensive launched against the “latent threat of terrorism”, in February last year.
