Muzaffarnagar: A 14-year-old girl, who was rehabilitated along with her family after the 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots, was allegedly gang-raped by three youths at Ambeta village in the district.
Circle officer NP Singh said on Saturday that police has registered a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code including 376 (d) (rape by one or more persons constituting a group) against one Zulfam, son of former Gram Pradhan Zaheer, and two unidentified youths who are absconding.
According to a complaint lodged by the victim’s brother, the girl had gone to the fields on Friday and the three youths gang-raped her while she was returning home.
The girl was later found in an unconscious state. She is undergoing medical examination.
The victim’s family members were allegedly beaten up by the accused when they protested over the incident.
Her family was rehabilitated to Ambeta village from Baghpat district after the Muzaffarnagar riots in 2013.
